Bald Eagles

The Lewis family took a trip to Starved Rock last weekend to view the bald eagles. They congregate near the lock and dam there to fish. The cold weather forces them here since much of the rest of the river becomes iced over. Granted at the lock and dams there will be open water for feeding. While the camera fails to get a good look at them, there were telescopes available to see them up close. While the bald eagles are present one would much easily see the seagulls and geese that were also present. It is apparent that the Lewis family camera is not capable of capturing the eagles as they would have liked to. But it was a fun adventure!

looking closely, the end tree (about center photo) is where most of the bald eagles sat perched, one is just landing in the tree when the photo was taken
