A Frog!

Nature at it's best was experienced first hand by Abie & Jacqie today in the garden. They were finished with the picking and watering the last of the tomatoes when Jacqie pointed out to Abie the cute frog hopping away. It was somewhere between golf ball size and baseball size.

Just as Abie was noticing it (brown, hopping in the brown dirt) it neared the back of the garage and edge of garden when it was suddenly snatched up by a skinny headed snake! It quickly reached out, grabbed the frog and then just as quickly dissappeared behind the rock propped up in the corner of the garden (the rock was there to keep out the chipmunks - unsuccessful). It's presumed it was a common garter snake, though Jacqie assumes no expertise in identifying snakes. The picture found here comes close to what she witnessed.

As you can imagine Jacqie jumped, trying to catch her breath and Abie ran startled back to the porch. She was done watering the garden.

Oh my I would have been freaking out!!!!! I hate snakes.... Annabella is afraid of frogs for some reason. We have lots of frogs around our house and everytime we enter or exit our house she makes frog sounds and looks franticly for one and has to hold one of our hands. It is the cutest thing.
