The cage was designed, constructed and installed just as berries were starting to grow. All in attempts to keep out the chipmunks, birds and other garden pests. It was looking great. No appearance of the strawberry patch being visited by unwelcomed guests.....then after a few days things just looked skewed. It seems that the cage was working for chipmunks and birds (however no berries were yet ever tempting them, but close), but the gas meter guy compromised the security! Apparently the Lewis' were upgraded on their meter that happens to sit tightly against the strawberry cage. And it's ever so slightly bigger than the old one. But with a few adjustments and forcing things around it was believed to be secure once again.
Then the first berry came! What a beauty!

At least almost....then the questions started: was it a chipmunk? Bird? Ants? ....

Not certain, but not too long after the first berry the Lewis' have had days of this:

And this:

Success seems to have been achieved (at least so far)! Now just to keep the children from eating them before Jacqie gets them into the house!
